Steve Duritt, from Wrightstown, NJ, had his first musical inspiration at the age of 5, when he saw the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show.

While in High School, Steve began to play bass in rock bands. Groups like Boston, Bachman Turner Overdrive and Lynyrd Skynyrd were the popular acts of the day. It was around this time that Steve saw blues great Freddie King perform on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, and this immediately sparked his interest in the blues.

After putting music "on hold" while in college, Steve spent 9 years performing and recording with an original country band.

Steve met guitarist Mike Capone in 1993, and he has been Mike's bass player in various rock and blues bands ever since.

Steve also plays bass with the Jerry Gilbert Blues Band, when his schedule with the Rippers permits.
